As a general dental practice in Surrey, we offer a wide range of services aimed at restoring your teeth so that they’re fully functional and aesthetically pleasing. We would like all of our patients to keep their natural teeth throughout their life and we emphasise the importance of prevention and maintenance. On your first visit, we will ask you about your medical history and enquire whether you are experiencing any problems or pain with your teeth or gums.
We will then conduct a thorough oral examination and may need to take x-rays. If your teeth need a thorough clean or any other treatment, we will explain this in advance and discuss the options with you. Your treatment may require you to attend a series of appointments.
Your Surrey cosmetic dentist, Dr Riten Patel can enhance the appearance of your smile and even brighten it using the latest techniques in tooth whitening. After a basic smile analysis, we can assess whether your teeth can be improved by cosmetic veneers, crowns or tooth coloured restorations.
Crowns and Bridges
If you have a weak tooth or are missing one or more teeth, you may need a crown or a bridge. A crown sits over a tooth that may have been broken or weakened and will thus serve to return the tooth to its former strength and natural shape. If you are missing one or more teeth, a bridge may be fitted to stop the surrounding teeth from moving out of place and will be anchored by one or more crowns to restore the appearance and function.
Should you have a gap where a tooth has been lost, you may wish to speak to us about the possibility of implants. These would be fixed to your jawbone allowing us to build a permanently secure and natural-looking tooth.
If you no longer have any of your natural teeth you will benefit from having dentures as they will provide support for your cheeks and lips. Without them, your facial muscles may sag thereby making you appear older. If you already have dentures, it is still important to continue to have regular dental check-ups to ensure that the soft-tissue remains healthy
Sometimes tooth decay can make its way through to the nerve of the tooth, causing you pain and sensitivity. Root canal treatment can solve the problem, save your natural teeth and prevent the need for dental implants or bridges.
Jaw Joint Problems – Pain
Clicking or popping sounds from your jaw are usually a sign of a problem with your jaw joint. This may stem from stress or an incorrect bite. We can help to balance your bite and relieve any pain you may be experiencing.
Dental Phobia / Anxiety
We understand that some people are a little more anxious than others about a visit to the dentist. We will listen to your concerns and try to work through them to ensure you can still have healthy teeth and gums. For those that require it, we also offer sedation.
Fillings are required when the tooth structure becomes decayed creating a cavity (hole) in the tooth. We first remove all decay from the tooth using state of the art laser disinfection and then fill the cavity with a natural-looking tooth coloured material.
