Straighter teeth without metal braces – ask a Molesey dentist about Invisalign

Many people who have misaligned or uneven teeth are resigned to the fact they are going to have to live with them because they can’t face orthodontic treatment with uncomfortable and unpleasant fixed metal braces. However, a number of new orthodontic straightening devices have come onto the market in the last ten years that have made vast improvements on the old style ‘train-track’ braces.

One such product is Invisalign invisible braces. Made from one millimetre thick clear plastic, Invisalign braces are virtually invisible when in position in the mouth but they are still as effective as metal braces. The system works by using a series of clear plastic aligners, each worn for a periods of about two weeks before a new aligner is needed. Each new brace has small adjustments designed to gradually move the teeth into the desired position.

On average, the Invisalign treatment lasts about 16 months, six months shorter than the average treatment with traditional fixed braces. So not only are Invisalign braces far more discreet, you will also need to wear them for significantly less time. Another major benefit of the Invisalign system is that the braces are completely removable. They need to be worn for about twenty hours a day to receive the maximum benefits of treatment, but this means they can be taken out while eating, playing sport and for cleaning teeth. In this way they reduce the oral hygiene impact on the teeth that some fixed bracket braces can have.

Invisalign braces from Molesey dentists are perfect for young professionals who don’t want to have the stigma of having braces but want straighter teeth. They are also ideal for teenagers, with a special teen range of Invisalign braces being developed with added features.

Incredibly fast teeth straightening with Six-Month smile brace fro Molesey dentist

Patients with overcrowded, unevenly spaced or crooked teeth have the option of having their teeth straightened with orthodontic braces. Braces are devices made of ceramic, metal and plastic that manipulate the teeth into a more aesthetically desirable position. In the past, braces have often been uncomfortable and unseemly and could take up to two years to effectively straighten teeth but as technology improves, new improved braces are available that offer less intrusive treatment.

Six-month Smile braces are relatively new to the market and promise straighter teeth in as little as, you’ve guessed it, six-months. Because the treatment is so fast and more discreet than old-fashioned fixed-metal braces, Six-Month Smile braces are becoming very popular with people wanting to put the finishing touches to their smile before a big social or professional occasion.

Six-Month Smile braces are suitable to treat a variety of straightening needs including overcrowding and bite issues. The small tooth-coloured wire system offers a high degree of discretion as they are almost impossible to see unless standing very close to the patient’s mouth. While it is true that some other braces, notably clear plastic retainers, have the edge in terms of discretion, Six-Month Smile braces more than make up for this with the incredible speed of treatment they provide. The average treatment time for Six-Month braces is an incredible 75 per cent faster than fixed-metal braces and plastic retainers. They also cost about half the price of plastic retainers and most other straightening systems.

Not all patients will be suitable for a Six-Month brace so it will be necessary to make an appointment with a Molesey dentists to asses suitability. Six-Month braces are all manufactured in a special laboratory in the USA to assure quality of treatment. They require short 10-minute appointments with a dentist on a monthly basis for tightening and adjustment and may be slightly uncomfortable at first, but this will usually pass after the first few days. Put the finishing touches to your smile with a Six-Month Smile brace and give yourself a reason to smile.

Straight teeth without the sacrifice with Invisalign braces form Surbiton dentist

For patients not blessed with naturally straight and even teeth, a perfect smile can be achieved by wearing orthodontic braces. In the past, patients have been limited to fixed-metal braces that are both ugly and uncomfortable, which could have a serious impact on their lives. Fixed braces were not only aesthetically unpleasant but they also made eating a messy experience and certain foods were off the menu completely. Braces are unfortunately most effective during the developing teenage years, meaning that patients in their most difficult and emotionally challenging years would stand out from the crowd. Luckily, advances in dental technology provided an answer in the form of Invisalign clear plastic retainers.

Created by Align Technologies in 1999, Invisalign retainers are one-millimeter thick see-through plastic retainers designed and manufactured for each individual’s teeth. A series of twenty or so retainers, worn for a period of two to three weeks each, gradually moved teeth into a the desired position. The retainers are made using the latest computer-aided design and manufacture technology to provide straighter teeth with the minimum amount of discomfort. Because the retainers are see-through, they are almost impossible to see when fitted over the teeth, unless standing very close to the patient.

Even more importantly, Invisalign retainers are completely removable so they can be taken out at meal times and for important social occasions. This again reduces the impact on the patient’s life and creates no restrictions on what they can and can’t eat. The retainers are easily cleaned with normal toothbrushes and tooth paste.

Invisalign retainers really do offer straighter teeth without the sacrifice. Treatments usually last between one and two years which is slower than some other retainers on the market, but because of the reduced impact of treatment and quality of results, is rarely an issue for most patients. If you suffer from misaligned teeth and are looking for a discreet and pain-free way of straightening them, make an appointment with a Surbiton dentist to discuss the benefits of Invsalign plastic retainers.

Sunbury dentist straightens teeth in six-weeks with Inman aligner

The Inman aligner is the latest in a long line of orthodontic straightening appliances offering straighter teeth in a shorter time with a much smaller impact than fixed-metal braces. The aligner is perfect for achieving small straightening movements in a short amount of time, particularly on the upper and lower front teeth. Many dentists are using the Inman aligner as an alternative to the Invisalign clear plastic braces. The Inman aligner is not as completely discreet as the Invisalign treatment, as a small metal bar is visible along the front of the teeth, but the Inman shares many of the benefits with the Invisalign treatment and is up to 75 per cent faster.

The Inman aligner works by using the power of a coiled spring to adjust the position of the lateral teeth. This creates room for the front teeth to be pushed and pulled into a straighter position by the metal straightening bar along the front of the teeth. The appliance completely is removable but for best results should be worn for at least 20 hours a day.

Like most orthodontic appliances, the Inman aligner will initially be slightly uncomfortable as the teeth get used to the pressure being applied. This discomfort is rarely more than mild and will usually pass within the first week. It may also initially affect speech and cause the patient to salivate more but again these are temporary issues, and the patient quickly adapts.

The cost of the Inman aligner treatment varies according to the length of treatment, the level of straightening required and the level of expertise of the dentist but you should expect to pay between £1,250 and £2,500. This is considerably cheaper than many other straightening systems including the Invisalign plastic retainers.

Inman aligners have many advantages over other orthodontic braces. The most significant advantage is the length of treatment, which at between 6 and 16 weeks is much faster than any other brace on the market. The treatment is so quick that many patients are using it to straighten teeth before important special occasions such as weddings. The Inman aligner is also widely used and will be offered by nearly all dentists unlike some other braces that are only licensed to certain dentists. Sunbury dentists will be bale to offer you the Inman aligner treatment for effective and quick teeth straightening.
