Some fads come and go in Molesey but the really good ideas tend to stick around and it’s the same in the dental world and one old warhorse that isn’t going anywhere is the porcelain veneer and there are a lot of reasons why this treatment is still around after so many years. It’s an easy job to do for a start and in a couple of weeks the veneers will be cast from an imprint taken of your teeth and simply cemented over the prepared teeth. They are remarkable for covering up general wear and tear in the teeth and also restore the length of the teeth back to how they were; they will cover up gaps and even remove signs of recession in the gums. Now porcelain that is wafer thin you would think is not going to be strong but once it is cemented on the tooth’s surface it quadruples in strength making it durable for up to a good 15 years. But porcelain’s real strength lies in its beauty: wonderfully translucent, it holds an immense natural sheen and once it is fitted you will be shocked at just how beautiful your smile is. And the price is quite beautiful too so get to the dentists and check out the options.

If you have ever lost a tooth at all in Surrey, you may well have thought that getting a dental implant was just too prestigious and way out of reach for you. Well once it was, as it used to be a very complex operation to screw a small titanium screw into the jaw and it could take months to heal. But once dentistry got up to speed with amazing new developments in laser technology, in some cases, an implant can be fitted in a day. You see, locating an implant with a laser does very little damage to gum tissue and the jaw bone, so the area being worked on takes very little time to recover from the trauma. They are strong and healthy and will probably outlast your other teeth. Such has been the rise and demand for implants, due to the fact it has become so simple to do, the procedure is popping up all over the country and for you, the person that thought this treatment was way out of your league, think again. The implants popularity has seen the price of having one fitted have tumbled quite startlingly and if you get an insurance or payment plan put into place, it will not even burn a hole in your pocket each month.

We all would like to keep our teeth until the bitter end in Shepperton and as long as we get to grips with the art of looking after our teeth at home on a daily basis, there should be no reason why we can’t take them to the grave with us. Oral hygiene is such an important routine we should study and learn to master in order to maintain the health of our teeth and gums. And there really is no excuse for messing this up, seeing as we not only have the luxury of our dentist to sound out, but we can find out everything we need to know on the internet as well. Once the basics of brushing and flossing has been practiced to precision and we can do it with our eyes shut, then it’s just a matter of finding the right tools for the job and the products that suit your mouth. Get the right brush first, manual or electric and then get the right toothpaste- and then back it up with a good floss to get deep into the places brushes fear to tread. And if that’s not enough, follow that up with those tiny brushes in the shops that slid effortlessly between the teeth and gums and a good mouthwash and you will be laughing all the way to dental heaven- who says that dentists are not expendable eh?
